After your surgery, you will return to the office for a few visits within the first month of the procedure to ensure everything is healing properly. The cataract is removed with phacoemulsification which is an ultrasound that breaks up the cloudy lens and removes it from the eye. After the cataract is removed, a clear lens implant is placed into the eye. The cataract surgery is often completed in less than 20-30 minutes, thus requiring minimal anesthesia. You can go home shortly after the procedure.
We are all board certified ophthalmologists at the Eye Surgery Institute and offer many options for the best lens implants depending on your needs and expectations. Dr. Stanley Grandon and I will perform a comprehensive eye examination to help determine the best implant options for you. We will discuss with you the options available and customize it to your visual needs and desires.
We offer toric intraocular implants to correct astigmatism and multifocal/presbyopic implants to decrease your dependence on glasses for near vision activities. Our goal is to discuss your expectations in detail and create a plan that will provide you with the best visual result possible tailored specifically to your lifestyle and individual needs.
