Recovery After Cataract Surgery
After your surgery, you will return to the office for a few visits within the first month of the procedure to ensure everything is healing properly. The cataract is removed with phacoemulsification which is an ultrasound that breaks up the cloudy lens and removes it from the eye. After the cataract is removed, a clear lens implant is placed into the eye. The cataract surgery is often completed in less than 20-30 minutes, thus requiring minimal anesthesia. You can go home shortly after the procedure.
